What is the Ability-to-Benefit Training Program?
The Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Training Program is our online course to prepare you for the Accuplacer test.
What is the Accuplacer test?
The Accuplacer test is a standardized test that is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to assess a student’s grade-level competency. It is not a timed test, so you can take as long as you need to complete it.
Why do I need to take the Accuplacer test?
The
Accuplacer test is part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, Section 484(d) that
allows a student who does not have a high school diploma, its recognized equivalent, or who did not complete a secondary school education in a home school setting to qualify for Pell Grant funding through the Ability-to-Benefit program.What are the necessary steps?
- Take the first ATB practice test to identify your areas that need improvement.
- Review the necessary ATB lessons.
- After you pass both ATB practice tests, apply to the college of your choice.
- Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- Your college’s financial aid office will schedule an appointment for you to take your official Accuplacer Test.
