Cast From a Meta Quest Headset to a Computer

Required Items:

  1. Meta Quest Headset
  2. USB-C Cable
  3. Computer

Meta Cast Windows

  1. Download and install the Meta Quest Developer Hub.
    Notes
    Note: No login is required, and the program doesn't need to be launched.
  2. Download the Meta Cast batch file. Save to a convenient location, such as your desktop.
  3. Connect the headset to the computer with a USB Cable
  4. Inside the headset, you will find a prompt requesting permission to allow the connected device to access files.
    1. Using a hand controller, click Allow or Always Allow
    2. Select Allow as many times as necessary.
  5. Double-click the Meta Cast batch file to begin casting.



Scrcpy Windows Instructions

  1. Connect the headset to the computer with a USB Cable
  2. Inside the headset, you will find a prompt requesting permission to allow the connected device to access files.
    1. Using a hand controller, click Allow or Always Allow.
    2. Select Allow as many times as necessary.
    3. For the Enable Oculus Link? prompt, select Not Now. 
  3. Screen Copy (scrcpy) is available in 64-bit and 32-bit versions.  Click one of the following links:
    1. The 64-bit SCRCPY files
    2. The 32-bit SCRCPY files
Notes
Note: If you are unsure which Windows Operating System you have, download the 32-bit version.
4. Click the green Download button to download the entire folder.
5. Unzip the downloaded file by right-clicking on it
  1. Select Extract All
  2. Choose a location to extract the files
  3. Follow the prompts.
6. Run the SCRCPY app by double-clicking on the SCREENCAST_RUNME.bat file located inside the unzipped folder.
Notes
Note: If you receive a message on your computer that states Windows protected your PC, click More Info, then click Run Anyway

WarningIf nothing happens, or the window appears & disappears, look in headset & click Allow again.

View scrcpy in a larger window by clicking the standard Windows maximize button in the upper right-hand corner.
